Aranjuez is a spectacular valley located just a few kilometers from the city of La Paz, Bolivia. This natural corner is a true oasis for climbing enthusiasts, offering a perfect combination of breathtaking landscapes and technical challenges in its rock formations. The valley is renowned for its towering rock walls, which vary in height and difficulty, providing climbing routes for all levels. In addition to climbing, the natural environment of Aranjuez includes hiking trails, crystal-clear water springs, and diverse flora and fauna that enhance the outdoor experience.

Technicality

The routes in Aranjuez are known for their technical variety. The rock formations, mainly composed of limestone, offer unique challenges ranging from vertical slabs and cracks to dihedrals and friction climbing. The more advanced routes require specific skills such as jam handling, dynamic locking, and excellent balance control. Additionally, some routes feature overhangs and roofs, demanding mastery of roof climbing techniques.

Day 1.

Meeting with the guide in downtown La Paz, followed by a check of the technical climbing gear. Departure towards Aranjuez in a private vehicle, heading to the southern part of La Paz for the climb. During the journey, the guide will share safety recommendations and details about the routes.

We arrive in Aranjuez in approximately 40 minutes, distribute the gear, and have a brief warm-up session. We review the routes, starting with the most basic one and gradually progressing to more advanced levels, from beginners to experts. Continuous supervision by the guide to ensure safety and provide support.

At midday, we have a snack and some time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Later, we resume climbing on other routes, with options to explore different rock formations and additional challenges.

Finally, we descend from the climbing areas, dismantle the equipment, and conduct a debriefing of the day's activities. Time for comments and feedback on the experience.
