Day 1.
We depart from La Paz city on a 4-hour journey across the vast highland, admiring impressive volcanic rock formations that reveal the geological history of the region. Our journey takes us to Sajama National Park, one of Bolivia's first protected areas, and finally to the charming town of Sajama, located at 4,200 meters above sea level. Here, we will spend our first night in a cozy hostel, surrounded by the tranquility and majesty of the mountains around.

DAY 2.

We have an early breakfast around 01:00 am. and then take a 4x4 vehicle to the high camp at 5,100 meters. We start a 1.5-hour hike to approximately 5,500 meters, where we reach the glacier (a mass of rocks and snow penitents, depending on the season). We put on our technical gear and begin the climb, ascending a short but challenging section of rock, and then continuing up to the ridge line (6 hours) to reach the south summit at 6,222 meters.

We descend the same route back to the glacier, gather our belongings, and then hike back to the High Camp. The 4x4 picks us up and takes us back to the town of Sajama, where we spend a peaceful night at the hostel.
