DAY 1.

We left La Paz at 7:00 am. We drive 2,5 hours to the sector of Palcoco until we reach Condoriri - La Rinconada (4500m). We start the hike of approximately 1 hr. until we reach the beautiful Laguna Chiarkhota, the Base Camp (4650 m.) where we can observe different peaks over 5000 m elevation. Through the way we would be appreciating the altiplano landscape with their strong llamas and cute alpacas, some wild native animals, beautiful lagoons and its flora.

We continue the trek for 3 hours more until we reach the summit of Pico Austria (5330 masl). We have an incredible 360˚ view of the Royal Range, then we have a small snack, take a  well-deserved break and have pictures of the nice landscape.  Later, we return to Base Camp in approximately 2 hours and another 1 hours back to Rinconada, where transportation awaits us to return to La Paz.
