CHACALTAYA + VALLE DE LA LUNA

Full day

The highest former sky slope in the world!

Chacaltaya is a mountain located in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia, until 2005 it was the highest ski slope in the world, as well as the closest to the equator. In recent years it has been losing snow drastically due to global warming. Chacaltaya today is a pile of moldy rocks with hundreds of cold-resistant flames, but it used to be a tongue of glacier.

The valley of the animas is located in the southern part, 10 km from the city of La Paz, it is a place where erosion has consumed the upper part of a mountain, the soil being clay, time has created a work of art something different, it is like a desert of stalagmites, the perfect place for photographs.
